What are the Beyond Awards?

The Beyond Awards are our annual recognition programme — a moment to stop and acknowledge the colleagues who have made a genuine difference over the past year. Not just the visible work, but the contributions that are easy to miss: the person who held a project together under pressure, the one who quietly grew the people around them, the one who went far beyond what was asked.

The awards cover eleven categories spanning technical excellence, delivery, client impact, leadership, culture, and more. Any permanent employee or fixed-term contractor of six months or more can nominate a colleague. You may nominate as many people as you like, and the same person in more than one category.

Nominations are reviewed by a judging panel and treated as strictly confidential. Nominees are only informed when the shortlist is announced. Winners receive recognition at an all-hands event and a weekend trip to Florence, Italy in October 2026.

July Nominations open The portal opens. Nominate colleagues across any of the eleven categories.
August Nominations close The portal closes. All nominations and supporter statements must be submitted.
September Shortlist announced Shortlisted nominees are notified and winners are announced at the all-hands.
October Florence weekend Winners travel to Florence, Italy for a celebration weekend.
Process

How nominations are evaluated

The Beyond Awards follow a structured three-stage process designed to ensure nominations are assessed fairly, independently, and consistently across all eleven categories.

Stage 1 1 July – 30 August
Nominations intake. The portal opens on 1st July and closes on 30th August. Internal nominations are submitted by employees via this portal. External nominations are open to customers and partners via the dedicated external portal. External nominees are assessed on exactly the same criteria and scorecard as internal nominations.
Stage 2 September
Independent scoring. All nominations are assessed by an independent board of eight leaders drawn from across all of Beyond's locations and regions. Each member scores every nomination in their assigned categories individually using a 1–6 scorecard across three dimensions. Scores are recorded privately — members do not discuss nominations with one another before submitting.

What has been the impact on how Beyond operates? Consider improvements to delivery, process, efficiency, quality, or the way teams or engagements function.
Value creation
1 – 6
What value has been added — to a client, to the business, or to the organisation? Consider commercial outcomes, client satisfaction, revenue impact, cost improvement, or any other measurable contribution to Beyond's growth.
1A contribution worth noting — early signs of impact that deserves encouragement.
2A positive contribution that has made a difference, with room to grow.
3A meaningful contribution that has clearly benefited the people or work around them.
4A strong contribution that stands out — impactful, well-evidenced, and genuinely memorable.
5An exceptional contribution that went well beyond what was expected and left a lasting mark.
6A defining contribution — one that has raised the bar for what's possible at Beyond.
Stage 3 September
Committee meeting and structured discussion. A panel of senior leaders reviews the aggregated scorecards and determines winners across all eleven categories.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Who can submit a nomination?
Any permanent Beyond employee. Fixed-term contractors engaged for at least six months are also eligible to nominate and be nominated.
Can I nominate myself?
No. A colleague must nominate you. You may nominate as many colleagues as you like, including the same person in more than one category.
What is a supporter?
A supporter is a colleague who can independently corroborate the evidence in your nomination. Adding one is optional. If you do, they will receive an email with a link to write a short statement (150+ words) in their own words — this is submitted alongside your nomination but is not required for it to be considered.
Will the person I nominate find out?
Not until the shortlist is announced in September. All nominations are treated as strictly confidential. Please do not tell your nominee that you have nominated them.
How are winners decided?
A judging panel from the People Team and senior leadership reviews all complete nominations (those with a confirmed supporter statement). Decisions are made based on the quality of evidence provided, not seniority or visibility.
My supporter link has expired — what do I do?
Supporter links expire after seven days. If your supporter did not respond in time, please re-submit your nomination through the portal with their details and a new link will be sent.
